There will also be a world premiere this year: a string quartet by the young Indonesian composer Septian Dwi Cahyo, who will also be a personal guest during the ensemble’s summer work phase in order to communicate his work directly to the young people – an invaluable experience for the LandesJugendEnsemble. HörBlick
Concert series New Music

The “HörBlick” is a new concert series for contemporary music in Lauenburg on the Elbe. A town where HISTORICAL and MODERN live together. The city tells its auditory story, just as every place/space speaks and colors a sound event. Water, wind, even the ships sailing on the Elbe were and are also sound generators that acoustically shape their surroundings, like a sonic home to the residents.
In this place, starting in November 2019, current and impulsive music of our time will be presented as part of a new concert series.

Noriko Kawakami
(Organizer / Curator)

Noriko Kawakami is Initiator and curator of the concert series “HörBlick”. She was born in Japan. After studying composition in Tokyo, she moved to Germany in 1987 and continued her studies with Klaus Huber in Freiburg and Nicolaus A. Huber at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen. Noriko Kawakami is a former composition fellow of the Künstlerhaus Lauenburg. She collaborates with many renowned ensembles and performers. Her work has been presented at numerous festivals and concert series as well as on radio worldwide.
For several years she has been commuting regularly between Japan and Germany, but also within Germany she is constantly on the move with a suitcase and feels at home everywhere. Every winter she spends her creative period at Lauenburg/Elbe, living and working at the Künstlerhaus.
